JOHANNA VOGELSANG,  great  anti-war  artist and graphic designer, worked on the front line of the civil rights movement in Washington DC during the 60s and 70s , producing flyers, posters, illustrations for the Washington Post and Ramparts Magazine - and most importantly a legacy of paintings depicting civil rights leaders and protests.

Later she moved on to a series on women achievers, totalitarianism and conspiracy and in her  final days, smaller  paintings summing up her research and passion for the assassination  of JFK.

She passed away on December 1 2011, never having a web site published, though she longed to.
I, her daughter, have constructed  this web site so that her work gets the recognition it deserves.

Some of the works are available for sale. Many are already part of collections.  I hope to exhibit most or all of the civil rights works together , as well as the women series and totalitarianism series.  Johanna  researched about each subject extensively, and as this site progresses, I will include portions of the writings.

It was her dream that the works be seen and studied....to this end, I am researching venues.
